Rain Garden SiltChannel & SiltStone
Controlled Discharge into a rain garden
ACO SiltStone and ACO SiltChannel provide a durable, visually considered interface between hard drainage infrastructure and vegetated SuDS features.
Designed for rain gardens and bioretention areas, the combined system helps manage how surface water enters the planting zone, reducing flow velocity, encouraging controlled dispersion and helping protect against localised erosion. SiltStone sits directly behind kerb openings to break up and spread incoming water, while SiltChannel guides run-off along the edge of the rain garden, supporting either continuous flush entry or multiple inlet points.
Manufactured from high-strength polymer concrete, both products offer a robust, low-maintenance alternative to traditional in-situ silt bays, textured paving details and surface finishing works. Their organic wave pattern provides a more natural-looking transition into the rain garden, while also supporting straightforward inspection, silt removal and long-term performance.

ACO Rain Garden SiltStone is designed for rain gardens with kerb inlets, sitting directly behind the kerb opening to slow, spread and manage surface water as it enters the planting area. Its wave and stone-inspired design helps reduce flow velocity, collect silt and protect the rain garden from localised erosion, while creating a more natural-looking interface between hard and soft landscaping.
- Helps reduce erosion at rain garden inlet points
- Disperses incoming water to reduce excessive flow velocities
- Provides a silt collection area to help limit clogging within the planting zone
- Suitable for 600 to 625 mm kerb inlet gaps
- Can be connected to ACO SiltChannel for additional water distribution
- Manufactured from high-strength polymer concrete for long-term durability
- One-piece design helps simplify installation
- Low profile design supports straightforward inspection and maintenance
- Can be cut in half for corner applications
ACO Rain Garden SiltChannel guides surface water run-off directly into rain gardens, creating a smooth and controlled transition from hardstanding to planting areas. Its organic wave design helps distribute water, reduce erosion and make silt build-up easier to identify and maintain, while providing an attractive visual link between kerbs and vegetated SuDS features.
- Guides surface water run-off directly into rain gardens
- Helps create a smooth, controlled flow transition
- Reduces localised erosion at the edge of the planting area
- Encourages water dispersion across the rain garden
- Helps reduce silt entering the garden
- Simplifies inspection by making silt build-up easier to identify
- Straightforward maintenance due to its consistent channel design
- Can be configured for continuous flush entry or multiple inlets
- Manufactured from high-strength polymer concrete for long-term durability
- Virtually no water absorption, helping protect against frost and freeze-thaw cycles
- Matches the ACO SiltStone design for a consistent system appearance
